One great recipe that we found is using Salsa Verde as a pizza sauce, get some nice fresh tomatillos, cilantro and a few other ingredients and bam you have some amazing pizza. Some taco meat or chopped carne asada would go so well with salsa Verde sauce.
Here is how to make a nice Salsa Verde Sauce:
You will need:
-8 tomatillos with husks removed
-1 large onion
-4 limes juiced
-4 cloves of garlic
-1 bunch of cilantro roughly chopped
-Salt to taste
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tomatillos and onion to the pot and boil for 5 minutes or until the tomatillos become soft but not squishy. Transfer the tomatillos and onion from the pot to a plate and place in the fridge. When the vegetables are cool place them in a food processor with cilantro, lime and garlic. Mix until almost smooth but making sure to leave a little texture and salt to taste.
Have you ever thought of giving your pizza a slightly Asian twist by using teriyaki sauce as a pizza sauce? We think that would be great! Top it with Chicken, sesame seeds, green beans, mushrooms, garlic…. So many options for an Asian style pizza!
Here is how to make Teriyaki Sauce:
-1 cup water
-5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-1–2 tablespoons honey
-2 large cloves of garlic
-1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
-2 tablespoons cornstarch
-1/4 cup cold water
Combine the 1 cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger in a medium saucepan and set over medium heat. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the 1/4 cup water and whisk until dissolved. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan. Heat the sauce until it thickens to your desired thickness. If the sauce becomes too thick, add more water to thin it out.
Well what are you waiting for? Go out and try some new Sauces whether it be from Odd Moe’s Pizza or making it yourself, you can’t go wrong with pizza!
